Seaward

by JD DeHart

Thank you for your

gentle push at the shore.

Just a nod to send

me floating on my way.

Survivor ship, made

of the strongest paper to be

found, you battled much,

and for a long time.

Now you are headed

seaward to the unknown

swell of sound and light

while I paddle here.

I am sure a reunion is on

order and probably already

happened as you began

a new voyage.
