Amy Bassin is an interdisciplinary artist from NYC whose work encompasses drawing, collage, artist books, altered books, fine art photography, and video. Her work veers between the abstract/figurative, provocative/playful and the conceptual/intuitive.  She has a collagist's mentality that allows her to continually incorporate and interpret ‘found subjects/objects’ that often have diverse points of view. She has participated in numerous exhibitions here and abroad and has her work published in numerous online and print journals. Recently, her work appeared in WordPower: Language as Medium, she attended an art residency in Lisbon, Portugal and had hand-made artists books exhibited at the 5th Annual Art Book Fair in Antwerp, Belgium. Dream Streams, a text-based art collaboration with writer Mark Blickley, was published by Clair Songbirds Publishing. She is a co-founder of the five continent international artists collective, "Urban Dialogues."

About Us

ISSN 2042-3543
Publisher: Four Parts Press
Place of publication: UK

Simply put this is a creative writing site that puts the adage, "a picture paints a thousand words" to the test. The premise is that, each month, an image will be given as a visual prompt and you will have up to one thousand words to tell the story that you are inspired to write ... using your imagination as the canvas and language as your brush.

We are open to submissions of artwork to inspire stories and stories inspired by the artwork - how very Ouroboros of us!
