From Below
by Megan McDonald
In spring when first water
warms I from below
watch your legs as
you cast a line to find not me.
I can almost touch
a toe is miles away.
I want so much to hold you,
breathe blue sky.
When love goes wrong,
all that is dear is gone
only on this day when
ice and water coexist can I be with you
even if we never touch,as the sun warmth fades,
I merge into the dark blue below.
