The Boy

The boy wondered what he had done to deserve it. The beautiful red bike stood in the doorway, a bow around it. He screamed in delight and hugged his mother before running over to it. In the years that came, the boy received many nice gifts from his mother; each gift came with a price though. The boy was too young to understand, it was only now, six years later as he was standing in front of his house in the snow, looking at that beautiful red bike that he knew.
