Christy Kirk was born in Kansas City, Missouri but grew up in Cornelius, North Carolina. She has always had a love for all of the arts but eventually narrowed her focus to drawing and painting. Oil paints and other 2D mediums have been her primary focus for years though recently she has grown fond of handmade paper in her work. Though she may experiment with mediums she will always portray the body in some way or another. The nude figure and portraits are common subjects in her work. Christy Kirk graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in 2006 and received her Associates in Fine Arts degree from Central Piedmont Community College in 2009. She received her BFA in fine art at the University of North Carolina, Asheville and her MFA from Washington University.
Over the past five years, Christy has participated in 12 group exhibitions and has exhibited her work in Asheville, Chicago, Charlotte, and St. Louis.

Simply put this is a creative writing site that puts the adage, "a picture paints a thousand words" to the test. The premise is that, each month, an image will be given as a visual prompt and you will have up to one thousand words to tell the story that you are inspired to write ... using your imagination as the canvas and language as your brush.
We are open to submissions of artwork to inspire stories and stories inspired by the artwork - how very Ouroboros of us!
